Two things happen here. You can ask Angela to take up your case — and you can find the other women who are
carrying the same thing you are \u2014 a pregnancy with no floor under it, a person inside, a homecoming nobody prepared you for. Almost nobody in your life understands this. They do.
Ask her to advocate
Angela cannot take every case, and she will not pretend otherwise. What she can do is read every one of these and
put her weight behind the ones where her voice actually moves something. Tell it straight.
A medical emergency inside a facility should go to The Witness Log as well — that one is built to move.
Find your circle
These are small groups of people in the same situation. You are not signing up for a support group with a
clipboard. You are asking to be introduced to a few women who already know what a 6 a.m. collect call does to a house.
These circles are peer support, not therapy. The people in them are not clinicians and cannot treat anyone. If what you are carrying needs a professional, say so and the moderator will hand you a referral instead of a circle \u2014 that is a good outcome, not a rejection. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
How introductions work here. Nobody's phone number or email is shown on this page,
ever. You ask to be introduced, a moderator reads it, and you are connected only if both sides say yes. That rule
exists because some of the people at this table are hiding from someone.
